Review of Defense Soap.

Quick version:
Bar soap, shower gel and body wipes all have a strong tea tree oil smell to them.  Each product is average size (not a small bar of soap, etc.) with the wipes being more than average.

Full version:
If you are into fruit or flower smelling hygiene products then this is not for you.  Each of the 3 products I reviewed (Bar soap, Shower gel and body wipes) have a strong tea tree oil smell.  This is fine with me and actually has a clean refreshing smell in my opinion but might be an issue for those that don’t like tea tree oil.  I was surprised to find that the shower gel lathered up well with just a small amount of product.  The bar soap did even better and seems like it will last a while.

I’ve been using the body wipes directly after training for the past month and they are easy to use and come out of the dispenser without difficulty.  My current BJJ gym doesn’t have shower facilities yet so this has been a welcome addition to my post training routine.  I use them on my face, neck and lastly on my feet before heading home to shower.

This is from their website:

Defense Shower Gel
Ingredients: Saponified oils of Coconut and Olive, Jojoba Oil, Vegetable Gum/Glycerin Extract, Aloe Vera, Tea Tree Oil and Eucalyptus Oil.

Defense Body Wipes
Ingredients: 1% Australian Tea Tree Oil and 1% Eucalyptus Oil.

Defense Bar
Ingredients: Sodium Palmate, Sodium Palmate Kemelate, Water, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree Oil ) Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf (Oil of Eucalyptus ),Sodium Chloride, Glycerin, Tetrasodium EDTA, Tetrasodlum Etidronate.

I can’t say how well all this works yet but it definitely makes me feel better when I finish training to use the defense body wipes until I can get to the shower.  The bar soap and shower gel lather up well and look like they will last a while.  The body wipes also have a larger then normal amount of product in the dispenser compared to other ones I’ve tried.  I’ve always been advised that showering immediately after training is your best bet – but if your gym doesn’t have that option then it may be worth trying out Defense Soap wipes until you can get to a shower.
